Epic Pet Wars!
So here's a project i've been involved in recently. Drew and Amit, of Miraphonic Inc., made a web/facebook/iphone game called Epic Pet Wars. You raise a pet and gather items and experience points to make yours the baddest pet in the social-network-o-sphere. I designed the pets and all the items and custom backgrounds. The best part? You can battle your friends' tricked out pets too.
Here's a link to play on facebook and a link to play on the web. iPhone version to launch SOON! enjoy and come join my posse and battle me on facebook, I dare you! :) My pet's name is MICHM_SMASH.

since uber died...
i used to have all my own artwork on uber but since uber is long gone, i'm transferring some my artwork onto this blog. hope you like it. more to come.
this was a project i did for my senior solo exhibition. they choose 1 senior every year and award them $500 for exhibition materials and give them a whole gallery room to show. i worked my ass off to get it and here was the end result.
i was working with the mythology of isis and how it related back to me in a very 'joseph campbell' kind of way. that led to thesophy which led to metaphysics, which led to, gee, trying to figure out the inner and outer workings of what makes every single thing tick. you can read the press written by two artists, douglas green and jason keller, here.
materials include: plexiglas, wood, fan, bovine heart in formaldahyde, scale, live emperor scorpions, black light, wood chips, plasma ball, various forms of light, alarm clocks, emergency blanket, ibprofen, drinking birds, spiderman robot, physics book, glow lights, concrete and aggregate, rubix cube, streamers, and ice.

"Universal Apparatus: The Mechanism to Travel Through the Universe on the Back of Isis", 2008

"Univerasl Apparatus: The Mechanism to Travel Through the Universe on the Back of Isis (KEY)", 2008

show flyer
here is a piece i did a few months prior to the senior show:

"Cowboys Don't Eat Caviar", 2007
materials include: plexiglas, wood, electric kettle, taxidermied coyote head, live rabbit.
if anyone has any questions about these or want to discuss, feel free.
enjoy.

collage
after suffering for quite some time from artist block, i've recently fallen in love with the art of collage, both on the computer and on paper... an appropriate medium in the midst of recession when art materials seem oh-so-pricey. the answer: use whatever you can get your hands on.
"Sisyphus goes to Barney's", December 2008
spray paint, gouache, acrylic, watercolor, vellum, tape, ink, cardboard, pushpins, potato sack, plastic, on paper.
you can see the finished piece in the lustro/matani residence.
you may have seen these on facebook... i started to futz around with random images on the internet...

and my most recent work in progress...
